Arkansas defensive backs (and brothers) TJ Metcalf and Tevis Metcalf opted to enter the transfer portal Monday, according to a report by HawgSports/247Sports.

The sophomore TJ was a bright spot in an otherwise struggling secondary for the Razorbacks in 2024, making 57 tackles to go with 3 interceptions and 7 pass breakups. Of his 57 tackles, 29 of them were solo.

Meanwhile, Tevis was a freshman who played mostly on special teams in his first and only season in Fayetteville.

The elder Metcalf was a 3-star prospect and the No. 51 safety nationally coming out of high school per the 247 Sports Composite. He committed to Arkansas, choosing the Razorbacks over Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and many others.

In his freshman season, Metcalf had 15 total tackles, 9 of them solo, and recovered 1 fumble.

Tevis chose Arkansas over offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech and Colorado. He was a 3-star prospect out of high school and the No. 71 CB nationally per the 247 Sports Composite in the 2024 recruiting class.

Now, the 2 brothers who appeared to be just getting started at Arkansas could be finished in Fayetteville, and the Razorbacks suddenly have a shortage of defensive backs going into the Liberty Bowl against Texas Tech on Dec. 27.
