Bad news to report from Fayetteville as Arkansas junior running back Rawleigh Williams III has left the team’s spring game after being carted off the field. In case you missed yesterday’s news, the Arkansas spring game was moved inside to the team’s practice facility due to inclement weather. Due to the change, the team ultimately decided to cancel the spring game in favor of one final spring practice.
Williams had to be carted off the field and left the scrimmage on a stretcher, however, he was moving his fingers and lower extremities before being taken away by the medical personnel on staff at Arkansas.

Williams led the team in rushing last season, as he gained 1,360 yards on the ground and 12 touchdowns. His return from a bad neck injury was one of the team’s best stories last season. Williams did not play again as a true freshman after suffering his neck injury against Auburn in 2015.
The SEC Network’s broadcast sideline reporter Kris Budden indicated Williams has been taken to the hospital and did not move his extremities on the stretcher due to the medical personnel instructing him not to do so. The reporter did say, however, that Williams was moving his arms and hands prior to being instructed not to do so.
According to Budden, Williams suffered a stinger. Let’s hope that is indeed as serious as this injury is for one of Arkansas’ best players.
