Year 2 of the Sam Pittman regime at Arkansas will get started on Saturday with a home game against Rice.

The Razorbacks are coming off a 3-7 campaign, but optimism is high in Fayetteville that Arkansas will be better in 2021.

On Monday, the program released the depth chart for the opener against the Owls, and here’s what it looked like:

One interesting note on the defensive side of the ball is that Illinois State transfer John Ridgeway is listed as a starter for the season opener.

The 6-6, 320-pound senior, who is expected to provide resistance on the interior of the defensive line, underwent an appendectomy over the weekend and had been listed as questionable.

Ridgeway was one of 3 defensive line transfers Arkansas added in the offseason, with the goal being to improve upon a rushing defense that allowed more than 192 yards per game, which ranked 92nd nationally.
