Bret Bielema offered words of encouragement to embattled Texas coach Charlie Strong
One of Arkansas coach Bret Bielema’s best sound bites is his description of beating Charlie Strong’s Texas squad in the 2014 Texas Bowl. He said kneeling on the 2-yard line to close out a 31-7 win was “borderline erotic.”
In an ironic twist, Bielema reached out to the embattled Longhorns coach Sunday.
During a Monday news conference, Strong told reporters he received words of encouragement from several football icons, including Bielema. The Razorbacks’ coach praised Strong for how he has handled rumors of his firing, which have escalated over the past month.
