While most of the attention at Auburn is on the future of football coach Bryan Harsin, the Tigers still need to hire a new Athletic Director.
Allen Greene resigned that position a couple of months ago and Rich McGlynn has been filling the role in an interim position since.
On Saturday, ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel reported that a serious candidate to fill the vacant AD slot had emerged.
That candidate is current Mississippi State AD John Cohen.

Cohen has been the AD at Mississippi State since November of 2016. He served as the Bulldogs’ head baseball coach before that.
Whoever ends up taking the AD job at Auburn, be it Cohen or someone else, will certainly step right into the fire given the situation with Harsin and the football program.
The Tigers are a disappointing 3-4 on the gridiron so far in 2022 and playing Arkansas this afternoon.
