Bryan Harsin is heading to Cal to become the Golden Bears’ new offensive coordinator, multiple reports said Monday morning. Harsin was tabbed a candidate for the Golden Bears’ open OC position yesterday.

The former Auburn, Boise State and Arkansas State head coach has been out of coaching since Auburn gave him the boot after just 1 and a half years. He had just 2 losing seasons as a head coach – both of which came at Auburn.

Noe, he’s heading to Berkeley.

Cal has been stuck in an endless cycle since 2006. The Golden Bears have posted just 2 winning seasons across the past 10 years, though they could finish at 7-6 this season if they win their bowl matchup against UNLV. Regardless, this past season was one of the better years for Cal football in recent memory.

The Golden Bears fired OC Mike Bloesch just a week ago at the end of the regular season. Harsin is an attractive choice to the Bears because of his success on offense before he landed at Auburn, not to mention the fact that Cal HC Justin Wilcox and Harsin worked together as coordinators at Boise State under Chris Peterson.
