Deion Sanders being mentioned by fans to take over SEC program
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Deion Sanders is generating a lot of buzz for what he’s built at Jackson State the past few years, turning the Tigers into one of the top FCS programs.
Now, whenever a Power 5 coaching job opens up (or is rumored to potentially be opening up), Sanders finds himself mentioned as part of the rumor mill.
Auburn finds itself in such a position, as fans are growing tired of the Bryan Harsin era on The Plains 3 games into his second season. After a 41-12 loss to Penn State at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday afternoon, many started wondering if Coach Prime was the solution.
Here’s some of the reaction to Sanders and Auburn on Twitter:
Georgia Tech and Auburn are both about to get in on the Deion Sanders sweepstakes.

Auburn needs a hire that’s gonna set the recruiting world on fire and there’s no doubt in my mind that Deion Sanders can sign the most elite prospects Auburn has ever had when it comes to sheer numbers. Build an experienced, seasoned staff around him and let Coach Prime lead

Auburn should go after Deion Sanders before Florida State gets their chance to.

Only logical answer to stop this talent deficit is to call Deion, but Auburn will never do it.

Coach Prime to Auburn would be something. His Son at QB and Travis Hunter. Deion, Lane, Saban, Pittman ….

Jackson State is off to a 3-0 start after beating Grambling State 66-24 on Saturday. Power 5 offers are likely coming for Coach Prime. Now, the only question is whether or not he’ll entertain them.
