Durell Robinson spent a season at both Charlotte and UConn to start his college career, and now the running back is SEC-bound. Robinson announced via a video posted to X on Saturday that he had committed to Auburn.

“This place is special. There’s no other place I’d rather be,” he said. “I believe in Auburn and love it.”

Robinson was a 3-star recruit out of Baltimore and played in 4 games at Charlotte as a true freshman, reuniting with Biff Poggi, his high school coach. In 2023, he totaled 40 carries for 166 yards and a touchdown. He then transferred to UConn as a redshirt freshman, posting 731 yards and 8 scores on 107 carries.

After helping lead the Huskies to an 8-4 mark, the program’s best season since 2010, Robinson entered the portal once more. He ultimately decided to commit to Auburn, who will feature a new face behind center: Jackson Arnold, who threw for over 1,400 yards and 12 touchdowns with Oklahoma in 2024.

Hugh Freeze has had a disappointing tenure as Auburn’s head coach, going just 11-14 overall and 5-11 in the SEC in 2 seasons. With Arnold and now Robinson coming into the fold, Tigers fans will be expecting an improvement in their program’s fortunes.
