Gus Malzahn honors Auburn legend Pat Dye in the most amazing way

The Auburn Tigers are honoring late coach Pat Dye on Saturday with a special helmet decal and on-field logo. AU coach Gus Malzahn is taking it an extra, impressive step. Malzahn is sporting Dye’s classic look during Auburn warmups.

Dye passed on June 1. His son, Pat Dye Jr., shared how much it meant to his father to be around Malzahn’s team.
“He would call me after leaving practice, just giddy, talking about practice and talking about you growing as players, as coaches and as men,” Dye Jr. told Jeff Shearer of AuburnTigers.com. “There’s no doubt in my mind that it absolutely extended his life. That’s what he lived for.”
We’ll see if Malzahn coaches in the cap and tie when Auburn takes on Kentucky at 11 a.m. CT.
