Hugh Freeze to Auburn: Social media reactions pour in to AU news

Hugh Freeze is being hired at Auburn. As one would expect, the college football media community has a lot to say about the former Ole Miss head coach returning to the SEC.
Reaction to the big news is pouring in on social media. Many prominent media names took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Freeze arrives at Auburn with plenty of baggage from his tenure at Ole Miss from 2012-to-2016, a period of success and scandal for the Rebels. At Liberty, Freeze showed he still knows how to coach, with the Flames going 34-15 in 4 seasons, including 3 bowl wins. Liberty’s 2022 regular season, though, ended with a 49-14 loss to New Mexico State hours after news broke that Freeze was Auburn’s new No. 1 target for the head coaching position.

There will be a lot of talk about Hugh Freeze’s missteps at Ole Miss, but everyone has a past. He’s coached in the SEC, recruited in the SEC and won in the SEC. He’s also beaten Nick Saban in back-to-back seasons. In other words, he checks a lot of boxes for @AuburnFootball.

Auburn has officially hired Hugh Freeze as its next head coach.
