As Auburn started summer training camp, it seemed as if John Franklin III was settling into his role as a wide receiver.
However, earlier this week, the former “Last Chance U” star made the decision to transfer and will play for Lane Kiffin at FAU this fall, instead.
On Friday, JF3 explained that playing time was what caused him to leave Auburn, as he believes he’ll get to play more often with Florida Atlantic:

While receiving most of his playing time at quarterback last season, Franklin completed 14 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown. He also ran 46 times for 430 yards and two touchdowns.
As a recent graduate of Auburn, JF3 won’t have to sit out a year and will be eligible to play for FAU this fall.
