Yesterday, news broke that Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham would start at quarterback for Auburn.
Today, John Franklin III announced he is transferring just 10 days after graduating. The news was first reported by James Crepea of AL.com. The move has since been confirmed by Auburn coach Gus Malzahn. The Auburn coach released a statement explaining Franklin’s decision to leave the program.
Franklin recently graduated from Auburn, meaning he could potentially take advantage of the graduate transfer rule.

Less than two weeks ago, Franklin III said “transferring wasn’t really an option,” according to AL.com.
Franklin III tweeted this on Tuesday morning:

“Transferring is a tough process and to be bouncing around from school to school, that’s the last thing I wanted to do, to be honest,” Franklin said. “Transferring was the last option because it takes a lot out of you.”
