More Auburn magic? SEC officials completely miss fumble on Tigers and don’t review play

With the Ole Miss Rebels leading the Auburn Tigers 28-27 with just under 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter, SEC officials completely missed an Auburn fumble that could have changed the game.

The Rebels just scored to go up by 1 point, and on the ensuing kickoff, Auburn returner Shaun Shivers touched the ball before it rolled into the end zone. Officials called a touchback and Auburn ball, and didn’t even review the play.

Shivers’ finger definitely touched the ball, which would have resulted in an Ole Miss touchdown.

That could have completely changed the outcome of the game — it took a touchdown away from the Rebels.

Auburn marched down the field to score the go-head (and winning) touchdown 35-28.

Lane Kiffin won’t be happy about this one, and rightfully so.
