Clemson becomes betting favorite to win ACC Championship following FSU loss
Clemson is now the betting favorite to win the 2024 ACC Championship.
Florida State opened the year slightly ahead of the Tigers in the betting odds, but that has shifted in a major way following the Noles’ upset loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday in Dublin.
Per FanDuel, Clemson is now +270 to win the ACC as of publication. That’s up significantly from earlier this month when FanDuel had Clemson at +370 to take home the ACC crown.

Clemson is coming off of a disappointing 2023 campaign, but the Tigers did have a strong close to the year after a disappointing 4-4 start. Clemson is riding a 5-game winning streak into its Week 1 matchup against Georgia.
Miami is now second in ACC title odds at FanDuel at +350. The Hurricanes were priced at +440 earlier this month, so FSU’s loss also had a significant impact on their title odds.
And of course, Florida State took a tumble down the odds board. After being listed as a +300 favorite earlier this month, the Noles’ 0-1 start has them now priced at +550 to win the ACC. That’s tied for 3rd in ACC title odds along with NC State.
Florida State’s outlook
The fact that this is a conference loss for Florida State — its first since October of 2022 — is certainly having an impact on this price. However, the Noles’ lackluster performance on both sides of the ball is surely also an issue for oddsmakers. FSU had trouble moving the ball all day long, with the exception of its first and last drives of the game. The Noles posted an offensive success rate of just 37% in the loss — well below-average. Conversely, FSU’s defense allowed Georgia Tech to have a success rate of 58% (an elite rate).
Florida State does still have some high-profile games remaining on its schedule, including a matchup against Clemson in Tallahassee on Oct. 5. That now likely becomes a must-win game for the Noles if they want to remain in the ACC Championship race. FSU also faces Miami in October in a matchup that could have significant ACC Championship implications.
At the end of the year, the top 2 teams in the ACC standings will meet in the conference championship game in Charlotte on Dec. 7.
