Bernie Bierman was a legendary college football coach for more than 30 years, including two seasons as head coach at Mississippi State in 1925 and 1926. After a 3-4-1 season in 1925, his Bulldogs posted a winning season in 1926 with a 5-4 record. He went on to coach for five years at Tulane, losing the 1931 Rose Bowl, and coached for 16 years in two stints at Minnesota. Bierman was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1955 with 153 victories in 230 career games. He passed away in 1977 at the age of 82.B
