Prior to his first season at Weber State, John L. Smith was hired by Arkansas after the Razorbacks fired Bobby Petrino in the wake of his scandal. Smith signed a 10-month contract, signifying he would only be in Fayetteville on an interim basis. Smith’s previous coaching stops include Idaho, Utah State, Louisville and Michigan State.
