Dykes spent one season as an assistant coach at Kentucky, coaching the wide receivers and coordinating the special teams unit under Hal Mumme’s “Air Raid” attack for the Wildcats.  In 1999, he helped develop James Whalen into an All-American and set a college football record for most receptions by a tight end with 90.
