Types of Promos for Missouri Sports Betting
There are a few different types of promotions that came with the launch of Missouri Sports Betting, whether they be welcome offers, weekly specials, odds boosts and more.
Most welcome offers, for example, can be broken into 2 major categories, with some unique offers thrown in there, too. Let’s go over some of the most popular promotions you’ll find when betting on sports in Missouri.
Bet & Get
FanDuel, Caesars, Bet365 and theScore Bet feature Bet & Get go-live offers. Here’s a quick list of them:
- FanDuel: Bet $5, Get $300 win or lose
- Caesars: Bet $5, Get $150 if that bet wins.
- Bet365: Bet $10, Get $365 guaranteed
- theScore Bet: Bet $10, Get $100 if that bet wins.
DraftKings has a Bet & Get offer, too. Just sign up any time after December 1 and you’ll claim $300 in bonus bets. It’s live, Missouri sports bettors!
As you can probably tell, these offers allow you to bet a certain amount of money and get a certain amount of bonus credit. Bet365’s offer is guaranteed, while you have to win your bet to collect any bonus credit with FanDuel, Caesars and ESPN BET.
No-Sweat Bet
The No-Sweat Bet is the 2nd most popular welcome offer. This type allows users to wager up to a certain stake, but if that bet loses you’ll get your credit back in bonus bets. If you were to bet $500 on Missouri to win a game, you’d get $500 back if they lose. Pretty simple, right?
Of course, this one does come with a little more risk as these bonus bets are non-withdrawable until turned into winnings with a betting market. Usually, your stake will be broken up into smaller bets instead of one lump sum.
Here are the Missouri sportsbooks currently offering No-Sweat Bets:
- BetMGM: First Bet Bonus up to $1.5K
- Fanatics: Bet $30, Get $300 (Bet $10, Get $100 for use across the first 3 consecutive days with Fanatics Missouri)
Deposit Match/Sign-Up Bonus
You’ll see the Deposit Match turn up every once in a while. Currently, FanDuel is the only Missouri sportsbook offering a Deposit Match with its welcome offer. The Sign-Up bonus is what we talked about earlier with DraftKings – the $300 just for signing up. FanDuel, ESPN BET and BetMGM are all offering sign-up bonuses for signing up for an account in Missouri.
The Deposit Match is pretty easy to understand. FanDuel’s, for example, is a 100% Deposit Match up to $100. So if you deposit $100 right off the bat, you’ll get $100 in bonus bets. FanDuel is also offering a $100 sign up bonus to rival DraftKings’ $300, BetMGM’s $100 and ESPN BET’s $20 sign-up bonuses.
Boosts
This is actually more of an in-app promotion, but Caesars is currently offering 5 100% profit boosts with its Missouri bonus. In other words, you can double your winnings across your first 5 bets with Caesars.
With that said, just about every sportsbook listed above offers some type of profit or odds boosts on their site or app, usually updated weekly to keep up with the most popular sporting matchups of the week or even holidays. Caesars throws 5 profit boosts in with its welcome offer, probably because it has one of the best boost systems of the major sportsbooks listed. Bet365 and DraftKings are tough to beat in this department, too.
Missouri Sports Betting Launch Details
Missouri sports betting is now a reality, and fans all throughout the state can now profit from all their favorite teams. Gone are the days of jumping in the car and driving across state borders to place legal sports wagers. Bettors in Missouri now have the luxury of online sportsbook promos on all their mobile devices while in the Show-Me State.
Sports betting has officially been legalized in Missouri as of November 2024, when the state voted in favor of Amendment 2. Missouri legislators began pushing for legal sports betting in 2018, and the finish line will finally be crossed in 2025 when the Show-Me State goes live with legal sportsbooks. The passed legislation allows for both retail sports betting as well as up to 14 online sportsbooks.
The Missouri Gaming Commission is in charge of regulating the industry, including licensing and launching sportsbooks in the state.
Missouri Sports Betting Timeline
The push for sports betting in Missouri has been quite the adventure, with sportsbooks now available to download in the Show-Me State. As the December 2025 launch date has come and gone, let’s take a look back at the process that played out to reach this point.
Here’s how the timeline looks regarding the MO legal sports betting scene:
- December 1, 2025: Sports betting apps launched in Missouri.
- Nov 17, 2025: Pre-registration for Missouri sportsbooks went live at midnight on this date.
- Nov. 6, 2025: ESPN BET and PENN Entertainment cease their partnership, shutting down ESPN BET effective Dec. 1, 2025 — Missouri’s launch date. PENN is now set to launch theScore Bet, though it’s uncertain what theScore Bet’s status will be for Dec. 1’s Missouri launch.
- Oct. 22, 2025: BetMGM, bet365, Caesars, ESPN BET, FanDuel, Fanatics, and Underdog are granted temporary betting licenses in Missouri. The 7 listed join DraftKings and Circa Sports, which snagged the state’s 2 “untethered” licenses in August.
- Aug. 15, 2025: The first two sports betting licenses were granted as the Missouri Gaming Commission awards DraftKings and Circa Sports the state’s two untethered licenses.
- May 2025: The Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) announces that Missouri sports betting will be launched on December 1, 2025.
- November 5, 2024: The Missouri sports betting ballot is approved by voters, permitting up to 14 online sportsbooks in the Show-Me State.
- August 13, 2024: The Missouri sports betting ballot measure is approved, and Missouri residents will now vote on legalized sports betting in the state in the Fall.
- February 2, 2024: HB 2331 receives approval from the Missouri House of Representatives Special Committee on Public Policy.
- November 22, 2023: SB 852 and SB 824, attempting to legalize online sports betting, are introduced by Missouri lawmakers.
- May 15, 2023: The Missouri Legislative Session concludes without passing a bill to legalize sports betting.
- March 2023: HB 556, HB 581, and SB 30 are all backed by numerous professional sports teams and casino operators/sportsbooks. The early reports are bullish that Missouri could give the green light to sports betting during the 2023 legislative year.
- January 2023: The Missouri House gives the first reading to Rep. Dan Houxโs Missouri sports betting bill, HB 556. Another sports betting bill, HB 581, was also filed.
- April 2022: HB 2502 ultimately fails to reach legalization, with hopes for Missouri sports betting once again tabled until the new year.
- March 2022: The circulating bills (HB 2502 and HB 2556) are consolidated into one bill known as HB 2502.
- January 2022: Six Missouri professional sports teams/casino operators back a proposal for mobile betting tethered to existing Missouri retail locations.
- December 2021: Rep. Christo Fanelli submits HB 1666 to legalize sports betting, calling for a 6.75% tax rate and no league data mandate. HB 2080 is also introduced by Rep. Dan Shaul, allowing for Missouri online wagering with no requirement for in-person registration.
- April 2021: The prospective legislation does not receive the necessary votes to pass, ending any chances of a 2021 MO sports betting legalization.
- December 2020: SB 18, SB 217, and SB 256 are all pre-filed for the 2021 session. All three bills would legalize sports betting in Missouri on both online and retail fronts, with each of the platforms tied to brick-and-mortar locations regulated by the Missouri Gaming Commission.
- March 2020: The COVID-19 pandemic affects areas all over the world and puts a lockdown on much of the nation. This effectively halts any movement on the Missouri sports betting front.
- February 2020: Rep. Cody Smith (who sponsored HB 119) introduces JB 2284 in a re-tooled effort with an alteration made to the aforementioned royalty fees.
- January 2020: Rep. Dan Shaul files HB 2088 which quickly clears the state’s House Special Committee on Government Oversight.
- December 2019: SB 567 and SB 754 are pre-filed by Sen. Danny Hoskins and Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer, the bills would allow for remote registration.
- October 2019: After a few months of little to no movements, a hearing is held by the Special Interim Committee on Gaming in the Missouri House of Reps. The subjects of the hearing are sports betting, daily fantasy sports, and video lottery terminals.
- November 2018: Rep. Cody Smith pre-files HB 119, offering royalty fees to professional sports leagues and the NCAA for wagers involving their teams/players.
- April 2018: Movement stalls out during the Missouri House Budget Committee’s public hearing, and with legislation unlikely to pass before the May 18th deadline, the hopes for Missouri sports betting in 2018 are eliminated.
- February 2018: Sen. Danny Hoskins and Rep. Dean Plocher introduce SB 1013 and HB 2535. Both bills would authorize sports betting online and on Missouri’s riverboats while adhering to NBA and MLB requests to control league data.
- January 2018: The effort to legalize sports betting in Missouri begins when Rep. Bart Korman introduces HB 2320 at the 99th Missouri General Assembly.
The November 2024 breakthrough was a massive step towards finally getting to see the industry go live. Now that the state has officially made sportsbooks available, eligible users will have access to a variety of different operators.
How to Bet on Sports in Missouri
Sports fans in Missouri now have access to wager on games while in their own state. With that said, getting started in sports betting can be a pretty daunting task – especially where money is involved. Here’s a look at some of the most common ways (or, lines) to bet.
- Moneyline: Betting a moneyline is without a doubt the easiest way to wager on a game. A moneyline represents a wager on either team to win the game outright. Favored teams will have (-) odds while underdog teams will have (+) odds.
- Point Spread: Playing a point spread is another very popular way to bet on sports as the point spread represents a simple handicap set by the odds. Favored teams will be giving (-) points while underdog teams will be getting (+) points. In order to win your bet, your team must ‘cover’ the spread (+ or -) of the final score. Point spread bets that end in a tie are considered a push and the user is refunded.
- Over-Under Total: Betting on the over-under total is a great option for users who don’t want to back either of the teams in the game. With the betting the o/u total, it will combine the score of both teams in the game to see whether it falls over or under the pre-game number set by the odds. Over-under total bets that end in a tie are considered a push and the user is refunded.
- Player Props: Player prop bets are a great way to wager as they are an option to bet on individual players rather than the team win/loss result of the game. Player props vary by sport and are often parlayed together for multiplied odds.
- Parlay: Placing a parlay is one of the most lucrative ways to bet on sports as it allows users to combine together multiple bets from different games on one ticket for multiplied odds. For a parlay bet to be cashed, the user must win each of the individual legs on the ticket. If any of the legs lose, the parlay ticket is a loss. If any of the legs end in a tie, they are considered a push and are removed from the ticket.
- Same Game Parlay: Placing a parlay is one of the most lucrative ways to bet on sports as it allows users to combine together multiple bets from the same game on one ticket for multiplied odds. For a same game parlay bet to be cashed, the user must win each of the individual legs on the ticket. If any of the legs lose, the parlay ticket is a loss. If any of the legs end in a tie, they are considered a push and are removed from the ticket.
- Live Betting: Sports bettors don’t need to worry about missing the start of the game as they will have the option to jump in with live betting at virtually any point. Live betting odds are updated from moment to moment to reflect the status of the ongoing game and can present massive opportunities to bet odds at premium value thanks to swings in momentum.
- Futures: Bettors have the option to place a wager with premium odds on an outcome long in the distance when they take up futures betting. Futures bets are typically placed during pre-season periods, but the odds are regularly updated to week year-round to reflect the status of the outcome in question.
Missouri Bet of the Day (December 11, 2025)
The St. Louis Blues visit the Nashville Predators on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The Predators are the only team worse than the Blues in the Central Division standings, but only by 3 points. Nashville will look to narrow the gap even further tonight, but I think Jordan Kyrou and the Blues can pull off the mini-upset on the road.
Over at DraftKings Sportsbook, St. Louis is +105 on the money line. That’s my Missouri bet of the day.
Missouri Professional and College Sports Teams
The wide variety of popular Missouri college programs and professional sports teams make the impending launch of Missouri legal sports betting even more exciting. The Kansas City Chiefs are among the major professional sports teams in the area and are currently in the midst of one of the most successful runs in modern NFL history. With a pre-existing appetite for local sports, Missouri fans should be even more charged up for the next season, knowing they will soon have the ability to wager on all the action with legal sports gambling set to go live in the state ahead of the 2025 NFL Playoffs.
Missouri Professional Sports Teams
- Kansas City Chiefs (NFL)
- Kansas City Royals (MLB)
- St. Louis Cardinals (MLB)
- St. Louis Blues (NHL)
- Sporting Kansas City (MLS)
- St. Louis City SC (MLS)
Missouri College Sports Teams
- University of Missouri Tigers
- University of Missouri-Kansas City
