Kelvin Sampson delivers simple pitch to Alabama fans to pull for Houston in Saturday’s matchup vs. Auburn
Kelvin Sampson thinks he’ll be able to count on Alabama fans cheering for his Houston team as the Cougars take on Auburn on Saturday.
Alabama and Auburn will play separate games in a single-ticketed event on Saturday, with Auburn taking on Houston at 7:10 p.m. ET, while Alabama and Maryland will meet up at 9:40 p.m. ET. Sampson is hoping that the addition of Alabama fans that have some hometown hate for Auburn will be enough to sway the outcome of the game in Houston’s favor.
“From what I know about Auburn-Alabama, I don’t think I have to,” said Sampson in regard to pitching Tide fans to pull for Houston on Saturday. “We’re playing Auburn, 6:10 (local time), let’s go. We need some help, Roll Tide! Is that good enough?”

Perhaps the mini-pitch from the head coach will be enough to entice Alabama fans to cheer for Houston. We’ll see how deep the hate between Iron Bowl rivals goes on Saturday.
