About Duke Basketball

Duke is one of the true blue-bloods of college basketball.

Entering the 2024-25 season, the Blue Devils have won 5 national championships, an ACC-record 22 conference tournament championships, finished No. 1 in the Associated Press poll 8 times, produced 11 national Players of the Year and had 71 players selected in the NBA draft.

It’s a dominance built on the foundation of great players such as Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley, Grant Hill, JJ Redick, Zion Williamson and Cooper Flagg, a legendary coach, one of the nation’s best homecourt advantages and a floor-slapping swagger that has made Duke the team everyone other than its own Cameron Crazies love to hate.

Although the bulk of the Blue Devils’ success has come since the arrival of Mike Krzyzewski, who retired as college basketball’s winningest coach in 2022 after 42 seasons, Duke’s winning legacy dates back to the earliest days of the ACC.

The program’s first 2 Final Four appearances came in 1964 under Vic Bubas and 1978 under Bill Foster.
