About Florida Basketball
Florida basketball is one of college basketball’s true blue-bloods.
The Gators have won the NCAA Tournament three times — in back-to-back years in 2006 and 2007 and again in thrilling fashion in 2025 under coach Todd Golden. Kentucky is the only other SEC program with multiple NCAA Tournament titles.
Billy Donovan built the program into a national champion and perennial contender. Donovan won 467 games at Florida, where he remains the school’s all-time leader in wins. Norm Sloan (235 wins) is the only other coach in program history who won more than 200 games.
In 2007, Joakim Noah became Florida’s first AP All-American.
