About Georgia Tech Basketball
The Yellow Jackets’ basketball history dates back and includes John Heisman – yes, that Heisman – as one of their first coaches. But when you think of Georgia Tech basketball, the image of Bobby Cremins with his prematurely white hair and gold tie flopping as he jumps up and down, hands in the air, on the sideline.
The Yellow Jackets enjoyed the most successful era in their basketball history during his 19-season tenure as coach.
With stars such as Mark Price, John Salley, Stephon Marbury and the “Lethal Weapon 3” trio of Kenny Anderson, Dennis Scott and Brian Oliver, Tech won 2 ACC regular season championships, 3 conference tournament titles, 10 NCAA Tournament appearances and a trip to the Final Four in 1990.
Tech returned to the Final Four, advancing all the way to the national championship game under Paul Hewitt in 2004 and won its most recent ACC Tournament crown in 2020 under Josh Pastner.
