Fiercely independent in football, Notre Dame was a force in the Big East and remains so since joining the ACC in 2013-14. The 2015 Irish team won the ACC Tournament in their second year in the league, taking out blue-bloods Duke and North Carolina in consecutive days to seal the trophy.
