Desmond Howard says there’s a new front-runner to win the Heisman Trophy.
Howard, who won the award at Michigan, says Wolverines standout Hassan Haskins is the new front-runner for college football’s top individual award. Haskins scored 5 touchdowns in No. 5 Michigan’s 42-27 upset of No. 2 Ohio State. Haskins carried the ball 28 times for 169 yards in the UM victory.
Many people, including yours truly, said Kenneth Walker III was the Heisman front runner after he scored 5 TDs. Hassan Haskins @h2_2535 just scored 5TDs against the #2 team in the country.Hassan Haskins Heisman front runner.@umichfootball pic.twitter.com/Dqt4SiDNx0

This season, Haskins has 216 carries for 1,063 yards and 13 TDs. As the 1991 Heisman winner, Howard gets a vote for the 2021 trophy. We’ll see if the ESPN analyst sticks with Haskins or changes his mind after next week’s conference championship games.
