Houston linebacker leaves game on stretcher, taken to hospital

A scary scene in Friday night’s Houston-Memphis game as UH linebacker Donavan Mutin had to be taken off the field by a stretcher. He was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Mutin, a team captain, was hurt at the 12:02 mark of the first quarter. Both teams gathered while Mutin was down on the field being. Mark Berman of Fox 26 shared video of the play and reports that the hospital visit is precautionary, as Mutin was able to move his hands and legs.

The ESPN2 broadcast went to the studio while the game was delayed for approximately 10 minutes.

Fingers crossed for Houston LB Donovan Mutin. Immediately looked like he was knocked out after making a tackle.
ESPN2 has gone back to the studio as trainers attend to him on the field and players from both teams are gathered around.

The game is now in the second quarter. Houston leads Memphis 7-0.
