Kirk Herbstreit updated his top 4 teams in college football list Sunday morning following Week 5’s CFB action, and things have for the most part stayed the same.
Herbstreit has Georgia at No. 1, followed by Texas at No. 2, Washington at No. 3 and Florida State at No. 4. Immediately following those 4 are Michigan and Ohio State at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Herbstreit is lower on both B1G powers compared to other lists across the country. Ohio State was on a bye this past week but picked up a huge win over Notre Dame the week prior, yet still sits at No. 6 in his rankings.
Michigan, according to Herbstreit, fixed some offensive woes in their most complete game of the season to date against Nebraska Saturday.

One thing is for sure: This is the most parity the sport has seen in a few years, all thanks to Georgia’s struggles.
Herbstreit is like a lot of people unlikely to move the bulldogs out of the No. 1 spot until they lose. After all, Georgia hasn’t lost in over 650 days and has won back-to-back title. They’ve probably earned as much.
But that’s not saying Georgia isn’t considerably more flawed than last year’s fantastic squad. The Bulldogs have struggled out of the gate against inferior opponents twice this season, once against South Carolina in Week 3 and again yesterday against Auburn.
That can’t happen against Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky or even Mizzou moving forward.
