Lee Corso is missing from College GameDay on Saturday.
Host Rece Davis addressed Corso’s absence at the top of the show.
“Lee Corso a little bit under the weather,” Davis told the audience. “We expect to get him back soon.”
It’s the second time in the 2024 season that Corso has missed a Saturday GameDay show. Corso did not make the trip to Dublin, Ireland for the Week 0 game between Florida State and Georgia Tech.
Corso, who turned 89 in August, is the only original GameDay on-air personality remaining on the show (he was a contributor in 1987-88 and joined as an analyst in 1989). Corso has missed a handful of shows over the past few seasons for health reasons.
In Corso’s absence, the GameDay has one fewer seat at the desk. Davis is joined by Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit. Insider Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims are also on site.
Fans will especially be disappointed that Corso is missing when it comes time to make picks for the biggest Week 6 games. Marshawn Lynch, one of the most entertaining people in all of football, is back at his alma mater to join the GameDay crew.
