Marshall pulls off incredible trick play on kickoff, takes it 98 yards to the house against Appalachian State

Marshall is in Boone, N.C., to take on Appalachian State. Both teams entered with a 2-1 record, with the Thundering Herd coming off a loss to East Carolina and the Mountaineers most recently blowing out FCS Elon.

And rookie head coach Charles Huff’s team may have pulled off a contender for trick play of the year. App State had just completed a 15-play drive to take a 14-13 lead on Marshall with just over 7 minutes to go until halftime. On the ensuing kickoff, though, the Thundering Herd reached into their bag of tricks and attempted a fake reverse.

And it worked: Rasheen Ali took it 98 yards for the score as Marshall jumped back ahead 20-14 after the extra point. Take a look at the video below:
