The NCAA is reportedly adding a 42nd bowl game, according to college football insider Brett McMurphy. This new bowl which will be played in Texas will allow all 84 teams that are bowl eligible to play in bowl games this season.

The game, yet to be scheduled, will be played on an ESPN network but a date hasn’t been announced either. By adding another game, Hawaii will play Memphis in the Hawaii Bowl.
Last year, bowl eligibility requirements were waived due to the circumstances of the 2020 season. A few of those teams like Ole Miss and Mississippi State, who both didn’t have winning records going into those bowl games, both won their games.
