Paul Finebaum praises Deion Sanders, calls Colorado a ‘legitimate factor’ in college football
Paul Finebaum has notoriously played a large role in documenting the Deion Sanders era in Colorado, and he appears to have been convinced of the program’s chances at being a contender in the Big 12 this season.
Following the Buffaloes’ 48-21 win over UCF on Saturday, Finebaum joined Matt Barrie to discuss Colorado’s outlook for the rest of the season. The radio/TV host explained that, out of any program, the Buffs impressed him the most Saturday.
“They went someplace that I thought would be incredibly difficult, and they won in dominating fashion,” Finebaum said. “As someone who has been very critical of Deion Sanders, I have to say that he has managed this team quite well despite all of the noise and criticism from people like me.”
Finebaum added that while not many people believed that CU was capable of this, they are now a “legitimate story” in college football.
“Colorado is a legitimate factor in college football right now, and there’s no denying it,” Finebaum said. “I sat there yesterday in admiration of what they were doing just because it was so dominating. It was a masterclass.”
The Buffaloes have a bye week before they host fellow Big 12 contender Kansas State on October 12.
