Anthony Richardson, former Florida QB, receives status update for Week 5
Anthony Richardson’s Indianapolis Colts are gearing up for a showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in NFL Week 5.
Unfortunately, Richardson may not be on the field for the matchup. The QB is dealing with an oblique injury and the team is listing the QB as “doubtful,” for the game.
If Richardson cannot go, veteran Joe Flacco will start for the Colts.

Flacco started in Week 4 and led the Colts to a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Flacco completed 16-of-26 passes for 168 yards with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
Richardson’s talent has never been in question. However, the young QB’s inexperience and injury history have been problems in his short NFL career.
As a rookie in 2023, Richardson played in just 4 games before suffering a season-ending injury. Now, in his 2nd year, Richardson could be looking at his 2nd straight missed game.
The former Florida passer has thrown for 654 yards with 3 TDs and 6 INTs in 2024. Richardson has also rushed for 141 yards on the season.
At Florida, Richardson played in 24 games for the Gators. The QB threw for 3,105 yards with 24 TDs and 15 INTs. The dual-threat QB also added 1,116 rushing yards and 12 scores on the ground.
Richardson was selected in the 1st round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Colts due to his physical traits and seemingly elite potential. If the QB can’t go in Week 5, his next chance to play will be in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans.
