Billy Napier is the new Florida coach, and he’s getting a hefty pay raise.
Naturally, he’s getting quite a bump from the salary he was making at Louisiana. Per reports on Saturday night, he’s now making nearly 3 times what he made at Louisiana.
The reports say the new contract is for 7 years and is worth a total of $51.8 million. Napier will start with a $7.1 million salary this coming year and then will receive a $100,000 pay raise every year of the contract:
AP source: New Gators coach Billy Napier got a 7-year, $51.8M contract that makes him the 5th- highest-paid coach in the SEC. Napier will make $7.1M in his first season and will get a $100K raise annually before each of the remaining six years

Florida coach Billy Napier signed a seven-year deal worth nearly $52 million, sources tell @SINow. Average salary is $7.4M.
Deal starts at $7.1M & increases by $100K each year.
It almost triples his UL pay.

Will Napier live up to the new contract? He’ll take over a Gator program that had a terrible 2021 season.
But, Napier comes highly recommended. He’s been a hot name on the coaching carousel in recent years. We’ll see how he fares in Gainesville next year.
