Carlos Dunlap is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs after going through a physical.

ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter was the first to report it.

The deal will be worth $8 million and Dunlap told Josina Anderson that a deal came together pretty quickly.

“It’s been a whirlwind trip,” Dunlap said. “I met with coaches last night & started looking at film around midnight. It’s an exciting time for me and a long time coming.”

Dunlap helped the Florida Gators win a BCS Championship in the 2008 season. He was named defensive MVP of the BCS championship game, a 24-14 Gators victory.

Dunlap was selected in the second round (54th overall) by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was in his 11th season with the Bengals when he was traded on Oct. 28, 2020, to the Seattle Seahawks.

Dunlap has 539 tackles, 96 sacks, 9 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions and 3 defensive touchdowns during his NFL career.
