Not long after Florida’s 27-16 loss to Kentucky last Saturday night, sophomore running back Adarius Lemons announced his intent to transfer.

The Gators will grant his request, coach Dan Mullen confirmed during his Monday press conference. Mullen said Lemons, who is “not part of the program anymore,” will complete his courses this semester before leaving for a new school.

“We wish him the best,” Mullen told reporters. “We’ll sign the release to let him go wherever he wants to go.”

A reserve running back last season, Lemons didn’t receive a touch on offense against the Wildcats after missing the season opener due to a suspension. He returned two kicks for 47 yards against Kentucky, but now he’s officially free to take his talents elsewhere.

Lemons, from Clearwater, Florida, was rated a 3-star prospect in the class of 2017, per 247Sports Composite Rankings.
