Jones was part of Florida’s 2018 recruiting class, the transition class under former head coach Dan Mullen. At the time of his 2017 signing with UF, Jones was rated the No. 40 overall prospect on the 247Sports Composite.
This past season, Jones completed 224-of-346 passes for 2,734 yards, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions while also rushing 143 times for 759 yards and 4 TDs. Jones will be immediately eligible with 2 seasons to play. Considered a redshirt senior by UF in 2022, Jones has the option to return in 2023 as a super senior using the NCAA’s COVID waiver for the 2020 season.
