Florida QB Luke Del Rio tweets support of players skipping bowls

As the Florida Gators prepare for Monday’s Outback Bowl against Iowa, QB Luke Del Rio’s thoughts are with Michigan TE Jake Butt, who tore his ACL in Friday night’s bowl game against Florida State.
Del Rio tweeted his support of players who are likely to be top NFL draft picks skipping non-playoff bowl games:

Obviously, Del Rio has a lot of work to do to make himself an NFL-caliber quarterback, but it’s safe to say he’ll have no problem skipping a meaningless bowl game if he’s in that situation.
Watch Florida in action on Monday afternoon against Iowa in the Outback Bowl. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on ABC.
