FSU’s Mike Norvell offers up the worst signing day phrase since ‘5-star heart’
Would you look at that?
Butch Jones finally gets his first head coaching gig since the Tennessee debacle and some of his old sayings suddenly start to rub off on other college head coaches.
Remember “5-star hearts”? It was one of Butch’s greatest hits as Tennessee’s head coach.
Florida State coach Mike Norvell put out his own variation of it as the Seminoles look to lock in recruits during the early signing period.
#FSU head coach Mike Norvell:
"I want the biggest, strongest, fastest at EVERY position, but what I’m most looking for is the 5-star MENTALITY."

Mike Norvell says he wants the biggest, fastest, strongest players … but he also wants a “Five-Star Mentality.”

We see what you’re doing Mike. You think you’re sly by switching “hearts” out with “mentality,” but we’re onto you.
This quote is sure to make any Tennessee fan have PTSD, any Florida State fan cringe, and any Florida fan to grin ear-to-ear.
