Just when Florida appeared to be settling in at the quarterback position, an injury to Luke Del Rio has struck again. During the Gators’ home win over Vanderbilt, starting quarterback Del Rio left the game due to injury and did not return.

The junior did not return to the field for the second half after sustaining what appeared to be a shoulder injury in the first half. It’s worth noting Del Rio had surgeries on both of his shoulders in the last 12 months. Unfortunately, the Gators signal caller will be going under the knife yet again.

Jim McElwain announced during his postgame press conference that Del Rio would miss the rest of the season and will undergo surgery Monday. The Gator QB broke his collarbone according to his coach.

Del Rio finished the game seven of 11 for 64 yards. He did not start the previous week, however, he entered the game in the second half and led the team’s 28-27 comeback win last weekend at Kentucky.
