UCF carried a 29-17 lead over Florida with less than 2-and-a-half minutes remaining in regulation in the Gasparilla Bowl, but concern quickly shifted to the wellbeing of Gators wide receiver Justin Shorter.
Shorter was taken off the field after taking a scary hit from a UCF defender near the Gators’ 45-yard line. He fell to the field unconscious and laid motionless for several moments while the medical cart made its way onto the field.

Fortunately, according to sideline reporter Taylor Davis, Shorter was speaking with medical staff while being transported off the field of play for further treatment. Multiple media members also saw Shorter moving his arms.
This is the last thing anyone wants to see during a football game. Hopefully, Shorter is OK and is able to make a speedy recovery.
