Kentucky linebacker calls out Anthony Richardson ahead of top 25 matchup

JJ Weaver has a history of cold takes against the Florida Gators. He said he would lock down Kyle Pitts before the Kentucky defense allowed 5 receptions for 99 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2020.
That went well. It seems Weaver is back for more against the Gators, though. He called out Anthony Richardson, complimenting him by saying he is a good quarterback before commenting that he won’t be able to run around and gash the Wildcats defense like he did against No. 7 Utah.
Bold take.
JJ Weaver… yes, the guy who boasted that “Kyle Pitts has never had JJ Weaver on him,” is now even more arrogant about what his team is going to do to #Gators QB Anthony Richardson.

Richardson was uber impressive in Week 1 against the Utes. He scored 3 touchdowns with his leg and was an absolute force – there was close to nothing Kyle Whittingham’s squad could do to slow him down.
Saturday’s top 25 showdown could be one of the mot important in the SEC East landscape this season. We’ll see if Weaver’s comments hold up.
