Kevin Carter previews Florida vs. Georgia, says Dawgs’ D is ‘otherwordly’
Kevin Carter shared his keys to victory for Florida as it prepares for the No. 1 team in the country in the Georgia Bulldogs.
Carter sat down with CBS Sports Wednesday to talk about what Florida has to do to pull off the upset. Carter thinks that his Gators will need to be more of what they are, and Graham Mertz is at the center of it.
“They have to be more of what they are. When you look at Graham Mertz on the season, he’s really had a pretty good year,” said Carter. The problem is what this team can do collectively. Mertz is gonna have to take care of the football like he has been. Any quarterback or offense that’s had success against Georgia has been because the quarterback’s been able to process and deliver the football.”
“This @GeorgiaFootball defense is still otherworldly… Georgia is still rendering people powerless.”

The Bulldogs’ defense is continuing to cause problems for opposing offenses. Carter thinks if Florida can possess the football, win the turnover battle, and winning vertical field position is how the Gators upset the top ranked team.
“This Georgia defense is still otherworldly. This Georgia defense is amazing. In six games, they’ve only allowed 300 total yards in three of those ball games. Understand what we’re seeing here in today’s modern college football with all the advantages that offenses have. Georgia is still rendering people powerless. Manufacturing points? Yes, but possessing the football, winning the turnover battle, winning the vertical field position and adding a little luck of a ball bouncing your way is how Florida gets this done.”
Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
