Mike Gundy was interested enough in the Florida job that his agent sent a letter to Athletics Director Scott Stricklin to explain why the Oklahoma State coach was ready to make the move to Gainesville.
According to a letter from Devin Bonik obtained by Andy Wittry of Warner Media, Bonik wrote that Gundy was “very interested in the head coaching vacancy at the University of Florida. He is confident that he could bring the leadership and passion necessary to re-energize your football team and GATOR fan base.”
The letter also reference that Gundy has turned down the Florida State and Arkansas jobs, and the Tennessee job twice. Bonik’s letter came before Oklahoma State upset rival Oklahoma, and played its way into the edge of the College Football Playoff before the Big 12 Championship loss to Baylor.
The attached letter also cited several career highlights and accomplishments by Gundy.
I believe @SInow referenced this, but before Bedlam, an agent named Devin Bonik emailed Florida AD Scott Stricklin, claiming:
– “[Mike Gundy] feels the timing is now right to make a career move to a special place like Florida”
