Johnny Townsend finds new home as Baltimore Ravens announce addition of former Florida punter

The all-time leading punter in Florida history has found himself a new home in the NFL.
On Tuesday morning, the Baltimore Ravens announced the signing of Johnny Townsend. The former Gator great last played in the NFL back in 2018 when he was a member of the Oakland Raiders.
During the 2018 season, Townsend made 16 appearances for the Raiders. Townsend landed a tryout with the New York Giants last season but failed to make the team.
Now he’s being given an opportunity to play for one of the best teams in the NFL heading into the 2020 season.
Townsend finished his college career ranked fifth all-time in SEC punting yards and tied for ninth in total punts following his outstanding career in Gainesville.
