Tim Tebow had some sad news to share on Wednesday.

The former Florida quarterback and SEC Network analyst took to Instagram to mourn the loss of his dog, Bronco. Tebow had the pet since 2010, the same year that he was drafted into the NFL by the Denver Broncos.

“One of the toughest goodbyes,” Tebow wrote on Instagram. “Wanted to make a special tribute to the sweetest boy ever – thank you for all the joy you brought and all the memories.”

Tebow’s full post was heart-wrenching as he gave that tribute to his friend:

A lot has happened in Tebow’s life since he adopted Bronco. Tebow played three seasons in the NFL, then made a huge career change to professional baseball. He has played in the Mets’ minor-league system for the past three years.
