Tim Tebow weighs in on what Florida needs in its next head coach

The Florida Gators parted ways with coach Jim McElwain on Sunday, meaning the coaching search is officially on in Gainesville.
No one is more familiar with the program than former Florida QB Tim Tebow, who is now an SEC Network analyst.
Tebow, who won two national championships and a Heisman Trophy during the Urban Meyer era, said on Saturday morning’s College GameDay that the next Florida coach needs to have a big personality in order to handle the demanding job.
“It’s a really tough position,” he said. “I don’t think the last two coaches — their personalities or their conviction — were big enough for the position. Taking a look at this next coach, you have to have a coach that is big-time, and I don’t mean just X’s and O’s — I mean his convictions, his passion, his heart. If not, that seat will absolutely overwhelm you.”
Clearly, Tebow thinks McElwain and former coach Will Muschamp were overwhelmed by the pressure in Gainesville, and he may be right.
The two best coaches in Florida history were Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer, and both of them left on their own terms to take different jobs.
With the pressure-cooker still going on at full force, the next coach of the Gators will need to have plenty of mental strength.
