San Francisco 49ers WR Louis Murphy was recently back in Gainesville with a message for his alma mater: anything is possible with strong leadership.

The former Florida wideout appears to be addressing members of the team at practice in a video shared by the team’s official Twitter account. Murphy played at UF from 2005-08, the four seasons Dan Mullen was offensive coordinator under Urban Meyer. After helping the Gators to BCS championships in 2006 and 2008, Mullen is now back at Florida as head coach.

Mullen has encouraged former players to come back and visit the program. Percy Harvin, Murphy’s teammate from 2006-08, is around the team so much that players have referred to him as “Coach Percy.”

In the video below, Murphy stresses the importance of leadership. He notes that it’s up to upperclassmen to bring freshmen and sophomores along and show them the standard.

Murphy, of course, had the benefit of playing with one of college football’s most natural leaders, Tim Tebow. With youth at quarterback and an open competition, the 2018 Gators may need to look at other positions to provide leadership.
