It has been a season to forget for the Florida State Seminoles, as they are currently 1-9 on the season after losing to Notre Dame 52-3 last week.
The struggles on the field are starting to leak into issues on the recruiting trail, as the Seminoles have been losing commitments throughout the season.
On Thursday morning, quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. announced he was opening up his recruitment and was no longer committed to Florida State.

The 6-foot-1 senior from Jacksonville initially chose Florida State over schools such as Florida, Louisville and Miami among others. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Jones is the No. 237 overall prospect in the class, and the No. 21 quarterback.
During the summer, it was neck-and-neck between Florida State and Florida, but the Seminoles won out at the time. However, he was at Florida State’s most recent home game against North Carolina, and the Seminoles lost that game 35-11.
Nothing is official, but the general expectation is that Jones is going to commit to Florida, who the Seminoles play at the end of the year.
With Jones no longer committed, the Seminoles now sit at No. 42 in the recruiting ranks, with only 12 players currently committed in the 2025 class. There figures to be an exodus of players leaving the team after the season is over, and Mike Norvell and his staff are going to have their work cut out for them in the off-season.
