D’Andre Swift offers blunt assessment of Georgia’s offense

The mood in and around the Georgia football offices isn’t exactly happy on this Monday after the Bulldogs suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, a 20-17 double-overtime loss to South Carolina in a game that Kirby Smart’s team were major favorites.
If you had the chance to listen to any call-in show in the Peach State since Saturday, you would have heard a similar feeling among Bulldogs’ fans: the offense needs to open up more.
Well, they aren’t alone. Speaking to the media on Monday, Georgia running back D’Andre Swift agreed that some changes need to be made on offense for the Bulldogs to reach their full potential.
“I think we need to take more shots downfield,” Swift said in a video posted by 960 The Ref. “Try to get the ball to our playmakers in space. Whatever the coaches think that might be.”
While Swift did have 113 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, he wasn’t happy with the rushing attack of the Bulldogs, especially considering the Gamecocks loaded the box against Georgia.
“They put a lot of people in the box so it’s hard, when you get past one level there are three guys right there,” he said. “You can’t make too many people miss.”
