This week, the Tigers hired former Georgia associate strength and conditioning coach Maurice Sims to be the director of strength and conditioning at Jackson State.
As you can see below, Sims took to Twitter to thank Georgia on the Fourth of July:
Univ of Georgia, Kirby Smart, Scott Sinclair & athletes CAN’T THANK YOU enough for an experience people only hope for & dream about! Extremely thankful for the amazing people within Bulldog Nation and relationships built! Dawgs will always be in my heart!

Sims soon issued a statement, expressing his excitement about the opportunity at Jackson State (via 247Sports):
“I’m definitely excited for this opportunity,” Sims said in a statement released by Jackson State. “We will utilize the great staff that we have, and we all work well together. I will learn from them, and they will learn from me as we push the guys to get to optimum levels mentally and physically.”
Sanders has turned Jackson State into an FCS powerhouse. Now, Sims will bring some SEC strength to the school as it continues to rise!
