Desmond Howard has made an extremely bold prediction about who will win the Heisman Trophy in 2023.
Howard on Saturday picked Georgia TE Brock Bowers to win the award.
Desmond Howard first good take in a long time! Picking Brock Bowers to win the Heisman this year. I can get on board with that! pic.twitter.com/GIXMDlqzLQ

Bowers is incredibly talented and may be the best tight end in the nation. The part that makes this a bold selection is the fact that Bowers is a tight end. No tight end has won the Heisman Trophy since Leon Hart in 1949 and Larry Kelley in 1936. No tight end has even finished inside of the top 10 in Heisman voting since 1977.
If any tight end could do it, however, it would be Bowers. Bowers led the Bulldogs in receiving in 2022 after finishing with 63 ccatches for 942 yards and 7 TDs. The star tight end not only led his team in receiving, but led the nation in receiving yards for a TE.
Bowers and the Bulldogs will kick off the 2023 season on Sep. 2 against UT Martin.
